The gallery begins with typically boring sculptures of naked people. We are in Italy after all. I’m not sure why they don’t just put these out on the street, like all the other naked sculptures so they’d have a free extra floor, but that’s just my opinion.
It got significantly better from there, with fantastic artworks from Prampolini, divided into different genres of his art, intelligently displaying the broad scope of his life’s work. It’s interesting to see just how influential modern Italian art is on modern design.
The Peruzzi exhibition in the top floor was amazing, and really captures the Futurismo style. It captivates the interesting diffusion of cubism from this style, and Peruzzis letters give a clue as to why futurismo lost steam while cubism continued (the war). His other works are also displayed.
What a gorgeous collection of art! We only had one day to explore this gallery and I was blown away by the diversity of the collection. Definitely a pleasant surprise.
Great choice for Sunday quality time. Extra walking because public transport in center of Rome was suspended. It was marathon day. At the moment main attraction "Women". The whole gallery dedicated to women all over the world and it is named " body and image between symbolism and revolution". It will last until 13th Oct 2019. Lots of works including paintings, sculptures, graphics and photography. From the late XIX century to 1970's .....
Having travelled to this ‘Art Gallery’ after checking its opening hours both before our holiday and that morning, we were politely told that it was closed, due to the arrangement of new works and an exhibition. Before we left, I suggested that they saved potential visor maca wasted journey and updated Google accordingly. I was informed that a message had been put on their own wed site, which after checking, I can not find any clear mention of a closure, and that they DO NOT consider it worth updating Google. When informed all this, we were told that we could still see one of the display rooms immediately after the entrance hall, but we would have to pay the full price. I have to say, the attitude of the receptionist and the lack of relevant information did not inspire me to go back to this art gallery next time I am in Rome.
Very poor we arrived they announced not open but you can look at a few statues. The cost is still 6.50€ probably a 15mins visit not even a discount offered. When we asked why they had not updated Google Maps they said didn't think important we have our own website.
Well sorry but as a visitor to Rome we were using Google Maps a lot to get around and so were thousands of other visitors/tourists.
Not very big but well worth a visit.
€10 for non residents.
The fact we actually paid 7.50 each to get in was actually a joke, there was nothing to see!! We were only able to see the exhibition I know modern art can be a bit out there but at one point I was staring at a blank wall like huh. Didn't get it and wouldn't pay for it again. If I could ask for a refund I would have.
Was ok...couple of exhibitions on...staff were a bit unhelpful
